Prevention Of Mother To Child Transmission (PMTCT)
BY THE EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY EDUCATION WELFARE SCHEME (ECEWS) KICKS OFF IN SMCCH, UMUOWA
This is a program that helps control the transmission of HIV from pregnant mothers to their unborn babies.
St. Mary’s Children and Community Hospital, Umuowa has been chosen for an enrolment for this PMTCT programme by the ECEWS. On their visit to the hospital on the 14th of October, 2019, the ECEWS team lead by Mr. Kelechi Mofunanya emphasized on the importance of this PMTCT program, and also they provided the hospital with HIV test kits as well as some drugs which will be distributed among patients that tested positive.
