Some members of our hospital participated in a 3 day national training on respiratory support for newborns. St Marys hospital is one of the leading providers of neonatal medicine in the region , and we continually strive to improve the quality of medical care we provide.
The head of the Paediatrics department , Dr Nkiru Adikuru , explained that , “ Training healthcare providers in effective respiratory support for newborns is paramount to improving neonatal outcomes. “
The training used a comprehensive approach that included standardized training programs, simulation-based learning, didactic education, and competency assessments , etc.
A step down training for all other staff in the department is ongoing to ensure best practices and quality of care.
