Update On Gynaecology Department

The Gynaecology team within the month performed a complex surgery of open Myomectomy (removal of fibroid) with extraction of more than 50 fibroid nodules.

Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids also called Leiomyomas.  These common noncancerous growths appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during child bearing years, but they can occur at any age.

The hospital performs routine open myomectomy for patients in our centre.

The patient uterus was returned back to shape after the surgery and the patient was discharged in a stable condition.
