Radiology Department

This department provides services like x-ray, ultrasound scan and electrocardiogram. The x-ray is operated by very qualified radiographers, who take and develop the x-rays and maintain all related equipment, documents and registers. The ultrasound machines are managed by good sonographers and radiologists and used for routine and emergency ultrasound scan services for patient. The ECG unit is 12 channel self-interpretive, and is manned by a trained ECG attendant.

CT Scan Services Now Available at St. Mary’s Children and Community Hospital Umuowa

We are pleased to announce we now offer state-of-the-art CT scan services as part of our Radiology Department.
A CT scan, also known as a computed tomography scan, combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around the body to create detailed cross-sectional images of the bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. This advanced imaging technique provides our medical team with a comprehensive view of internal structures, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This reflects our dedication to offering cutting-edge diagnostic tools to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Our CT scan is a brand new 32 slides SOMATOM Go Now CT Scan which was produced in 2023 in Germany.  The CT scan services are available 247 and fully functional.
